The Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery is pleased to announce the establishment of a web based national database for cardiovascular surgery in collaboration with Dendrite Clinical Systems - a European company that specialises in the supply of hospital and national cardiac database systems across Europe.

The initial pilot scheme will cover adult cardiac surgery procedures, but over time it is intended to roll this out to include all major vascular procedures and congenital cardiac surgical operations.

The adult cardiac surgical dataset has been chosen to allow easy data capture and risk stratification. The agreed minimum dataset is in harmony with international datasets and at the point of data entry, the system will automatically calculate risk scores using the Parsonnet and additive & logistic regression EuroScore algorithms.

The following web-enabled data capture screens provide a safe and secure demonstration area for piloting the collection of data for local reporting and for audit purposes. At the same time data is collected for local use it will become incorporated into the new national database for the Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery and eventually it will become available for onward transmission to the rapidly growing EACTS Adult Cardiac Surgical Database.
